The results of a recent survey were published today and the outcome is startling: 1 in 4 Americans polled said that money is more important than love in a long term relationship or marriage.
Yikes! Are we stepping backward toward traditional Indo-European practices in which people marry for money in order to keep the wealth within the family? Or are the demands and stresses of the current economy making us more focused on practical concerns? Can diamonds, luxury cars and high ticket vacations make up for a lack of connection with your husband, wife or partner?
What are your thoughts? Which is more important to you, money or love? Or is the choice not that black and white?
